Characteristic
Hot stone massage blends classical Balinese techniques with heat therapy. Two certified Balinese therapists work in synchrony, each treating one person with heated basalt stones that retain heat effectively. The massage covers the entire body, using smooth, slow, and soothing movements.
The heat from the stones penetrates deeply into muscles, providing relief and relaxation in even the most tense areas. This ritual improves circulation, supports detoxification, accelerates regeneration, and promotes deep relaxation. For couples, the shared experience offers both comfort and an opportunity to strengthen closeness and harmony.
The massage takes place in a cozy room designed for two people to unwind together.
To prepare for your hot stone massage, we recommend avoiding heavy meals for at least 2 hours beforehand to support recovery. Please arrive at NUSA SPA a few minutes early to allow time to change and relax before your session. Our reception team will briefly discuss your health to help our therapists tailor the intensity and course of your treatment.
We also recommend staying well-hydrated, as the heat from the stones supports detoxification and is more effective when the body is hydrated. After your massage, we invite you to unwind in our brine bath, which naturally complements the ritual and extends its benefits.
Hot stone massage for couples at NUSA SPA
Following a warm welcome, the couple is guided to a private office prepared for their joint ritual. The treatment is performed in disposable underwear on professional massage tables. Therapists begin with a brief manual massage to warm the body, then use heated basalt stones, moving them slowly and smoothly over the skin. Some stones are placed on key areas such as the back, abdomen, or hands to enhance relaxation.
The treatment includes the entire body, along with a brief face and head massage to promote calm and harmony. Relaxing music and aromatherapy further deepen the experience. After the massage, therapists step out to allow the couple a moment of quiet before inviting them to the brine bath.

While a hot stone massage is deeply relaxing, it is not suitable for everyone. It should be avoided in cases of fever, infection, or acute inflammation, as the body requires a different form of recovery. Individuals with serious heart conditions, hypertension, or cardiovascular issues should also refrain from this treatment, since the heat may place additional strain on the body. Hot stone massage is not recommended for those with varicose veins, skin conditions, wounds, or irritations that could be aggravated by heat.
Pregnant women should choose gentler massage options. Those who have recently undergone aesthetic treatments should wait until their skin has fully healed. If you have any questions, please contact the Nusa SPA reception. Our team will be happy to recommend the most suitable and safe treatment for you.
